The town of Bowmanville has an approximate population of 40,000 people. It is located in the Municipality of Clarington in Durham Region, Ontario, Canada. From Toronto, it is 47 miles (76 km) and from Oshawa, it is 12.5 miles (20.1km) along Highway 2. Bowmanville is located in the Greater Toronto Area. Three sides of Bowmanville are rural and the south of the town is Lake Ontario. Although urban Bowmanville is bordered at Baseline Rd W in the south, approximately 1km past Concession Rd 3 in the north, roughly 400m past Green Rd in the west and 500m prior to Lambs Rd in the east.
Highway 401 passes through Bowmanville, and three exits are available: Bowmanville Ave (formerly Waverley Road) — Durham Road 57 (Exit 431), Liberty Street — Durham Road 14 (Exit 432) and Bennett Road (Exit 435), which also allows access to Wilmot Creek on the Lake Ontario shore. King St W is the main road running west to north through Bowmanville.
Bowmanville is home to eight elementary schools including Central Public School located at 120 Wellington St and Dr. Ross Tilley Public School at 45 W Side Dr. Clarington Public Library, Bowmanville Branch is available for public access at 163 Church St.
Bowmanville is not short of space and has many parks and green areas such as Bowmanville Valley Conservation Area, Guildwood Park, Rotary Park and Longworth Park. Bowmanville Golf and Country Club and Quarry Lakes Golf & Recreation are located on the northmost edge of town.
Bowmanville Mall is accessible for shopping at 243 King St E. As Well as Michal’s Mall and West Bowmanville Shopping Centre.
