Brown’s Corners is an unincorporated community in Markham, Regional Municipality of York in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada and located near the corner of Woodbine Avenue and Highway 7. The community is mixed into another unincorporated community of Buttonville, Ontario. Beaver Creek flows through it.
The area was once farmland and has given way to commercial development. Outlet malls are now found near the former community. All that remains of the old settlement is the Brown’s Corner United Church with the small cemetery and Alexander Brown House at 8980 Woodbine Avenue.
Highway 7 and Highway 404 forms a natural border to the south and west respectively. Woodvine Avenue and Centurian Drive serve the main roads and intersect in the middle of the community.
Seneca College Markham Campus on 8 The Seneca Way occupies the southwest corner. Nearby establishments are Allstate Canada and Huawei Technologies Canada that can be accessed through Centurian Drive. The community is served by Monte Carlo Inn – Toronto Markham. Tourist spots include All Nations Banquet Hall and Event Facilities on 3300 and TRAPPED Escape Room Toronto Markham 3130 Highway 7. The only place of worship is St. Maurice & St. Verena Coptic Orthodox Church.
Other businesses located in the area and on the former Brown’s farm include Hyundai Canada, Oracle Canada ULC, Michael Angelo’s (located at the former Knob Hill Farms Markham Food Terminal), and Toronto/Buttonville Municipal Airport.
