Mississauga (/ˌmɪsɪˈsɑːɡə/) is a Canadian city in the Ontario province situated on Lake Ontario. Mississauga is based within the Regional Municipality of Peel. The city of Mississauga covers a total land area of 288.42 square kilometres (111.36 square miles), fronting Lake Ontario for 13 kilometres (8.1 miles).
Mississauga is bordered in the west/southwest by Oakville and Milton, in the north by Brampton, in the east lies Toronto, and to the south/south-east is Lake Ontario. The north-west corner of Mississauga’s is bordered by Halton Hills. Except the southeast border with Toronto (Etobicoke Creek), Mississauga shares a land border with all of the municipalities that were mentioned previously. Mississauga’s western side is divided from its central and eastern portions by the Credit River, which flows into the lake at Port Credit Harbour.

Ontario Pearson International Airport, located in the northeast end of the city, is located in the neighborhood of Malton.
Through the north end of the city runs Highway 401 (Macdonald-Cartier Freeway). It is connected to Highway 403, the main freeway in the city, which passes through City Centre and Erin Mills. Southern half of the city is traversed by Queen Elizabeth Way, the first freeway in the city. Except for the 403 from the 401 to Cawthra Road, and from the 407 to the QEW, all three freeways run east–west. As the 403 becomes the 410 north of the 401, the collector lanes turn into Highway 410, which leads to Brampton. The Mississauga portion of Highway 409 connects to the Pearson Airport.
