North York sits north of York, Old Toronto and East York, between Scarborough to the east and Etobicoke to the west. Yonge Street separates North York into two parts: the east and the west parts of North York. North York is bordered in the North by Steeles Ave W, the East by Victoria Park Ave, the South-East by Parma Court, South-West by Brookhaven. And the West by Humbermede. North York is home to many controlled-access highways, including Highway 404, Highway 400, Highway 401, Don Valley Parkway plus Allen Road.
The Toronto public transportation system consists mainly of buses and subways. Toronto’s subway system has two stations in North York, Line 4 Sheppard and Line 1 Yonge–University. There is a subway Line 4 Sheppard that runs from the intersection at Yonge-University at Sheppard Avenue easterly to Fairview Mall at Don Mills Road. GO Transit runs commuter bus services to communities throughout Greater Toronto outside of North York from their stations at Yonge St. @ Sheppard Ave (Stop ID: 100008) and other stations.
