Vanier is a neighbourhood bordered to the south by Highway 401, also known as the Highway Of Heroes, Oshawa Creek to the east, the Oshawa-Ajax town line to the west and King Street W to the north.
Neighbourhood landmarks include Oshawa’s largest shopping centre, Oshawa Centre, located in the northeast region of Vanier at 419 King Street West. The Civic Auditorium Complex at 99 Thornton Rd S and there are many parks such as Radio Park, Brick By Brick Park, and Rundle Park. Schools such as Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and Elementary School Catholic Corpus-Christi. And a university – Trent University Oshawa.
There are two main roads running through the middle of Vanier. Stevenson Rd S and Park Rd S, also known as Durham Regional Rd 54, from North to South and vice-versa. Gibbs St is the main street running from West to East.
