Pickering (2021 population 87,835) is a city that lies in Southern Ontario, in the Durham Region. A total of 231 square kilometres (89 square miles) is occupied by the city. The urban area of Pickering is bordered by Rouge Park on the west; Ajax on the east; and Lake Ontario starting with Frenchman’s Bay on the south.
The Ontario 401 Express, or locally just known as “the 401” is a highway that runs through Pickering. Other major roads in Pickering include Finch Ave and Sheppard Ave when crossing the city in a west-east direction. If you are going in a north-south direction you can take Altona Rd, Whites Rd, Fairport Rd, Dixie Rd, Liverpool Rd and Brock Rd.
From Pickering’s GO station, you have access to public rail transit running on an east-west axis.
