Richmond Hill is a city that is located in the south-central York Region of Ontario and also part of the Greater Toronto Area.
It is bounded northward by Bloomington Road (Aurora town limits), York Regional Road 7 to the south, Bathurst St to the west, and Ontario Highway 404 to the east. In terms of distance from Toronto’s southern limit, it is about 4 kilometers (3 miles) north of Steeles Avenue, which is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of downtown Toronto. Richmond Hill spans 14 kilometres (9 miles) north-south and 7 kilometres (3.5 miles) east-west.
The city’s main public transport is offered at Richmond Hill GO Station (Stop ID: 100062) at 6 Newkirk Rd, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 2C5.
Richmond Hill has several internal communities such as Carrville, Dollar, Gormley, Lake Wilcox, Langstaff and Temperanceville. Plus several other neighbourhoods such as Oak Ridges, Bayview North, Doncrest, Elgin Mills, Headford, Hillsview, Mill Pond, Richvale, Yonge Street, Bayview Hill, East Beaver Creek and Jefferson.
The current commercial hub of Richmond Hill is located near Leslie Street and Ontario Highway 7. Highway 404 runs through the area.
