A large suburban community called Woodbridge makes up a third of Vaughan. Situated west of Highway 400 and east of Highway 50, north of Steeles Avenue, and generally south of Major Mackenzie Drive West. The downtown area of Woodbridge is located along the Woodbridge Avenue stretch of road between Islington Avenue and Kipling Avenue, north of Highway 407.
Woodbridge is surrounded by a few other communities. Kleinburg to the north, Maple to the northeast, Concord to the east, Etobicoke to the south, Claireville to the west and Rexdale to the south.
